Our goal is to provide meaningful opportunities for school counselors to expand their knowledge base, learn about new things with the profession, and connect with thought leaders who are making positive changes in the area of school counseling.
Annual and bi-annual conferences are held to provide school counselors and other educators with training, information on relevant topics and networking opportunities.
In addition, the American School Counselor Association hosts an annual conference that hosts national and international speakers along with hundreds of vendors. DCSCA provides scholarships to assist members with attending the ASCA Conference each year.
GOT GAME? WE DO!!
Thanks to everyone that came out to our 2017 Winter Conference. We were excited to have attendees from New York and Ohio join local DMV school counselors.
We opened with a message from DCPS from Brian Taltoan, Manager, School Counseling Program, who stressed that school counselors must speak up, know your importance, and promote your work. Our dynamic keynote speaker, Dr Laura Owen, shared her passion for school counselors and unveiled some new programs coming to American University.
